A note from the director - Valerie Anne Woodard
1- Director of Rainbow Camp for over 35 years
2- Kindergarten teacher for over 40 years
3- California Teaching Credential

Hi I'm Valerie Anne Woodard, welcome to Rainbow Camp. I love what I do. I enjoy working with children and my counselors. I love the challenge of providing a safe, fun filled environment for children 4-13 years old. Rainbow Camp has, sports, arts & crafts, computers, dance, aerobics, karate, drama, entertainment and animals. The children never leave the campus, everyone comes to Rainbow Camp.

I want the children comfortable at camp. An environment that allows the children to take risks and to have new experiences. As director it is my job to provide this for my campers and their families.

The counselors of Rainbow Camp are very special. They are selected by me. In order to be a counselor at Rainbow Camp I must know the counselor at least five years before considering the individual for a position. At the present time I have know all of the counselors since they were five years old. It is like an extended family. The counselors care for the children and each other.

Rainbow Camp's counselors have a high level of enthusiasm, energy, patience and creativity. There is a three year training program. First a Trainee, Counselor in Training, Junior Counselor and then a full Counselor.

From the moment the campers arrive at camp until they leave the counselors are with them and they devote 100% to the children. The counselors make sure the children are safe, happy and enjoy each activity and day at camp. They truly are unique and wonderful individuals.
